AIDIS TRUST [charity]

THE BACKGROUND

The Aidis Trust was founded in 1975 to help disabled people communicate more easily and effectively through technology. Today, Aidis continues to enable the development and social inclusion of disabled people.

Aidis works to improve the lives of disabled people through communication aids, computers, and the special assistive technology that disabled people need to use them. Assistive technology can be, for example, larger keyboards, head pointers or specialist software such as magnification and screen-reading software for the visually impaired.

THE BRIEF

To take a series of stills involving different beneficiaries of the equipment that Aidis provides, mainly children; also the products and equipment that they provide. These photos would be used for various promotional purposes, such as publications in print and online.

THE ACTION

Over 2 days, people of all ages who benefit from the Aidis Trust's programme and support were photographed in their homes using their equipment. The products that the Aidis Trust use to help these people were also photographed seperatly in a studio shoot.

THE RESULTS

Photos have been used in promotional materials including leaflets, an annual review and report with a large circulation. Online, the photos have been used on downloadable web literature and on the website.
