INVALID DEBRIS [film]
THE BACKGROUND
INVALID DEBRIS is an original and thought provoking new film about love, friendship and revenge by The Young Persons' Theatre Company which examines the chain of events leading to a young man’s death at the hands of a gang and the psychological and emotional consequences for all involved.
YPTC is a theatre and film company, based in Camden Town for young people aged 14 to 27. We provide professional level training in all aspects of the performing arts from acting, singing and dance to voice work, audition techniques and stage fighting. THE BRIEF
Run an effective viral and festival marketing campaign for the film from start to finish; including stills, a website, Electronic Press Kit (EPK), and making of documentary.
THE ACTION
This project is still in production.
With the website setup, and branding for the film established early on, we were able to build a fanbase for the film before we started filming. The website included a blog which chronicled the life of the film through from rehearsals, to the shoot itself. This included photos and blog videos to garner interest. To promote the cast and crew, bio pages were all setup for every member of the company to further provide them with promotion for themselves and the work that they contributed to the project. Similarly the many sponsors and their logos were given screentime on their own page. Other media such as videos and music will be added in time. Driving people to the website is the use of social networking sites such as MySpace, YouTube and Facebook to reproduce viral content on different platforms and bring the content to others, expanding the network of people who know about the film.
A Press Kit will be produced, in downloadable form, from the website and in print which will serve useful for press attention on the film release in providing information. This will include production notes, credits, sponsors, locations and stills. An Electronic Press Kit (EPK) will also be made on disc to supplement the Press Kit, including audio visual content such as the music, trailers, blog videos and also a behind the scenes documentary charting the entire production process from rehearsals to final cut of the film.
THE RESULTS
This project is still in production.
INVALID DEBRIS finished shooting principal photography in July 2008 for 2 weeks in over 25 locations around London. INVALID DEBRIS has taken over the first 2 pages of search pages of Google. The website, blog and videos have been seen many times, the networks are being built on, as more content becomes available in the run up to the film being cut for 2009.
